Our Mission
A Home for the Greeter
If you’ve driven into Laguna Beach along Pacific Coast Highway, you’ve likely seen Michael the Greeter. For the past 15 years, he has stood in the same place, greeting people with a smile and a wave. He has become part of the town itself.
Michael continues Laguna’s long tradition of town greeters—offering warmth, presence, and a simple human welcome to everyone who passes by. For many visitors, he is the first person they encounter when arriving in Laguna Beach.
For the past 18 years, Michael has been homeless and lived without stable housing.
Now, the community has a chance to respond.

A local family has offered space on their property for a fully permitted accessory dwelling unit (ADU) that will become Michael’s permanent home. This is not temporary housing. It is a long-term living space built with intention and respect.
With the help of local architects, builders, and neighbors, we plan to build a modest 280-square-foot home that includes a kitchenette, bathroom, sleeping area, and living space—everything needed for privacy, stability, and independence.
We are raising $75,000 to cover design, permitting, construction, materials, labor, and furnishings. Every contribution goes directly toward building this home.
Michael has shown up for Laguna Beach every day, simply because he cares. This is the community showing up for him in return. Please join us in helping Michael by clicking the link below to donate today!
